Dry reagents

Transportation of testing reagents requires strict temperature control. Liquid reagents require dry ice for long-distance transportation, but our dry reagent eliminates the need for temperature control, overcomes the long-distance shipping and storage constraints, and provide life science reagents available in all regions.

Dry Reagents

  • Shipping and storage at room temperature are possible
  • Packaged individually for each test and can be used immediately after dissolution
  • Preformulated for reducing contamination risk and human error during reaction mixture preparation

Nippon Gene Materials developed a technology for drying genetic test reagents in 2016. We have established manufacturing technology of the dry reagent, and commercialized the world’s first phytoplasma universal detection kit (*) that can be transported and stored at room temperature.
Drying has made it possible to provide and use the reagents in all parts of the world where it has been difficult to ship and store reagents due to lack of freezing and refrigeration facilities.
The dry reagent kit is packaged individually for each test, and can be used immediately after being dissolved, reducing contamination risk and human error during test preparation.

※Phytoplasma Universal Detection Kit
Phytoplasma is a microorganism that causes plant disease, which damage the agricultural production by withering important crops such as rice, vegetables, flowers, and trees. This detection kit is a genetic test kit that does not require freezing or refrigeration for storage and shipping. The kit uses dry reagents developed through joint research with the University of Tokyo, which can comprehensively detect all types of phytoplasma.

Dry Reagents for Genetic Testing

Established our proprietary manufacturing method of dry reagent for transportation and storage at room temperature.

DryADD™ Phytoplasma Universal Detection LAMP Kit

Phytoplasma is a phytopathogenic bacterium that parasitizes the phloem of a plant. When infected, it causes malformation symptoms such as yellowing, dwarf, crowding, penetration, phyllody, and witches’ broom. Phytoplasma is transmitted through insect vectors, vegetative growth of grafting, etc., and an extremely important plant pathogen for agriculture.
This kit comprehensively detects phytoplasma belonging to the class Mollicutes using the LAMP method.
Nippon Gene Material has now made it possible to provide and use the detection kit in all parts of the world where transporting and storing reagents by freezing and refrigeration has been difficult, with proprietary drying technology.

DryADD™ Clubroot Disease Detection LAMP kit

Clubroot is a plant disease peculiar to cruciferous plants and is a soil-borne disease that is difficult to control once plant develop it. When infected with clubroot, many small and large bumps form in the roots. Absorption of water and nutrients from the soil is hindered, and the stems and leaves will wither during sunny days. Delayed growth causes the leaf color to fade and the quality of the harvest decreases.
This dry kit is made for customers who wish to execute the LAMP method for measuring the density of clubroot, which is the same reagent used in the “Plasmodiophora quantification (clubroot testing) service”. This product can be useful for the effective control of clubroot that cause enormous damage in cruciferous vegetable cultivation.

The product name has been changed from former “Clubroot disease detection kit (LAMP Dry reagents)”, while there is no change in the product content.

DryADD™ Cassava Begomovirus (Asian strain) Universal Detection LAMP Kit

This kit uses the LAMP method to comprehensively detect Asian strains of the genus Begomovirus in the family Geminiviridae. Our drying technology has made it possible to supply and use the reagent in all parts of the world where transport and storage of reagents has been difficult due to lack of freezing and refrigeration facilities.

See also Cassava page for more product descriptions.

The product name has been changed from former “-LAMP Dry Premix- Cassava Begomovirus (Asian strain) universal detection kit”, while there is no change in the product content.

DryADD™ Foot Rot Diagnosis LAMP Kit

This is a detection kit for sweet potato foot rot disease. This disease rots sweet potato during cultivation and storage, thus affects serious decrease in sweet potato yield. In agricultural fields where plant diseases with confusing symptoms are occurring, this product can detect the disease easily and promptly, which contributes to optimal control measure.

The product name has been changed from former “-LAMP Dry Premix- Foot Rot Diagnosis Kit”, while there is no change in the product content.
